For many years, we have been a part of the technical portion of the entertainment industry. Year after year, we’ve watched our fellow techs – our friends – lose themselves to depression, addiction, and other mental health issues. Some of those friends were able to afford treatment, but many were not. Too many of those that couldn’t afford treatment, we lost.
While some of these wonderful folks have insurance through employers, unions, or other means, mental health services are not something covered by many insurance plans. Even if a tech’s insurance covers mental health services, they may not be able to afford to take time away from work. That’s where we fit in. It is the purpose of The Nonnie Foundation to both raise awareness of these issues, but also to match technicians i in need with existing grants of which they might be unaware, and also to raise funds to supplement those grants. We will offer these services to all qualifying entertainment technicians based in the greater Nashville, TN area, regardless of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status.
The Nonnie Foundation can’t do any of this without your help. If you feel so inclined, we would love for you to partner with us. Check out the rest of our site to see how!
